One-Day Guest : Memoryhouse
Three videos selected by Denise and Evan from Memoryhouse.

—————————————
1 - - Stars of the Lid – “A Meaningful Moment Through A Meaning(Less) Process“

Evan – “…And Their Refinement Of The Decline was easily one my favorite albums of the past decade, and this video (unofficial) manages to encapsulate everything I love about this band: eerie, blissful, and yet quietly unsettling.
The video strings together dissonant footage from a film about Walt Disney’s EPCOT center in 1966, which serves as a perfect backdrop for the song; revelling in the-long forgotten childhood vacations residing in the suppressed regions of your memory. Dark nostalgia at it’s finest./”
2 – Grouper -”Hold the Way”
Denise – “The stilling effect that Grouper shares with the sound of pages turning in a book is especially luring in this video for “Hold the Way”.
Director Weston Currie’s use of abandoment is appropriately sad and beautiful, somehow making 30 seconds of a record spinning extremely engaging. This calming sensation is probably the reason why Grouper’s “Heavy Water” seemed to appear on all of me and Evan’s Nighttime-Driving mix CDs this past year.”
3 – – Yo La Tengo – “Sugarcube“

Evan - “This seems like an easy choice, but it really is a classic . I can’t watch this without looking back on my childhood; L.A. Gear Light-Up shoes, the blue album on cassette, Homeboys in Outer Space.
One of the biggest trends in music this past year has involved eulogizing one’s childhood, or perhaps, re-writing it the way we all wish it had happened, with hazy beaches and endless sunshine. This video is your actual childhood; confusing and rife with lazy afternoons having Rush lyrics read aloud to you.”
