GUEST CURATOR : FABRICE DU WELZ

3 videos selected by Fabrice du Welz :
1 – ALICE SMITH – “FIRE” (live at Joe’s Pub)
“Alice Smith sings a song called “Fire” that’ll be on her next album. I’m really impressed by her. Her energy, her voice and her stage presence are worth checking out. There’s also another song that I adore : “So Bad” “
2 – Dark of the Sun (1968)
“The opening sequence of one great neglected movie : “DARK OF THE SUN” by Jack Cardiff. The original soundtrack by Jacques Loussier is sumptuous. Both the movie and its soundtrack need to be rediscovered as soon as possible.”
3 – Criss Cross (1949)
“One sublime dance scene form Richard Siodmak’s “Criss Cross”. Burt Lancaster is back to the place where he grew up and is searching for an old flame, Yvonne De Carlo. Suddenly he sees her dancing… There’s also Tony Curtis dancing, in one of his first appearances on screen. The insistent music was composed by Miklos Rozsa. I may have been watching that scene over and over, I’m still not bored with it. So classy.
