1 – Ghost Animal – “Through Your Eyes”

“This video is unbelievable. Ghost Animal’s snare fills align with ghoulish flashing images of a gloomy, make-up covered girl in a dress. This video is high-quality, and manages to remain dark and haunting but light in compositional tone–shot and edited with edgy cuts; careful, precise, but not cautious. Perfect for Ghost Animal’s punishingly dark fuzz–which reminds me of a spell-cursed Cloud Nothings or a grunge-infused Gauntlet Hair.”

2 – Coma Cinema – “Only”

“This video of Coma Cinema’s wonderful track “Only” has not received enough praise. Mat’s pop sensibility really shines through in this track, as an entire dialogue and storyline is conveyed via Williams’ top-notch arrangements. The video is easy on editing techniques, but this is what makes it so filmic and downright spectacular. Coma Cinema’s heartfelt, sorrowful, and somber yet uplifting lyrics give multiple meanings to the imagery portrayed and allow for multiply layered dimensions of metaphor.”
